All of us love the fact that music is just a click away from us and the small size acts as a seasoning over the cake. But never do we try and realize whether we are hearing what had been composed or are there some elements missing. Irrespective of the "bit-rate",mp3 is nothing but a compression technique which compresses the sound and eliminates the tracks of the song which have the minimum volume but we do not realize this.Its like removing a few letters from a sentence but we are still able to interpret the sentence as our brain fills in the blanks but in case of music,the blanks remain blank. For example it was demonstrated that a song had 60 tracks but after compressing it into an mp3 format,26 tracks got removed completely.

So it is better to buy the official disc that the musician releases so that if someone wants to actually listen to the music that has been created, they wont be fooling themselves and depriving themselves of the actual sound that the band has created.
